Preserve Tomorrow Discover The Endless GLASSabilities

A National Initiative with a Mission and Vision

The Glass Loop Movement is a national initiative aimed at encouraging and facilitating glass recycling. The movement is made up of several partners all working in synergy to raise awareness on the importance of glass recycling. Our partners include Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Circular Caribbean, Guardian Media Ltd., ANSA Packaging and SWMCOL.

GLASS LOOP MOVEMENT OBJECTIVES:

Through strategic partnerships and sustained effort, the Glass Loop Movement aims to:

  • Increase awareness of the environmental value of glass recycling.
  • Further develop a nationwide system for collecting and recycling glass waste.
  • Foster collaboration among government, businesses, and NGOs to support sustainable glass recycling goals.
  • Support a culture of recycling amongst our citizens.
Why Glass Recycling Matters +
Glass recycling is one of the clearest examples of a true circular economy in action. Unlike many materials, glass can be recycled endlessly without any loss of quality or purity, making it a cornerstone of the Glass Loop Movement. When glass bottles are collected, cleaned and remelted, it reduces the need for new raw materials. Hence the thrust by manufacturers and conservationists alike to encourage glass recycling.
What Can Be Recycled +

Start With These Glass Items:

  • All brown, clear and green bottles.
  • Glass jars: Examples include alcohol and non-alcohol beverage containers, condiment bottles, jam jars, olive oil bottles, coffee bottles etc.
